It runs at the foot of the majestic Schneeberg through the so-called Au in the district of Hof and leads in loops with a total length of 7 kilometres through some gentle ascents and descents. In very good snow conditions, an additional two kilometres are groomed in the direction of Puchberg.

Wechsel panoramic trail

The heart of the cross-country skiing offer in the Viennese Alps is the Wechsel panoramic trail, which is around 60 kilometres long and is located at over 1,000 metres above sea level. With numerous access points and junctions, it is networked with other trails along the Viennese Alps. Whether beginner or professional, skating or classic style, every single cross-country skiing step is rewarded with wonderful impressions.

Semmering: Johannesloipe & Liechtenstein panoramic trail

With the starting point above the historic Südbahnhotel, the 14 kilometre long and moderately steep Liechtenstein panoramic trail leads across numerous viewpoints to the Semmering golf course and on towards Thalhof and Bärenwand.

The Johannesloipe trail is around 8 kilometres long and starts at the valley station of the Hirschenkogel four-seater chairlift. The romantic trail leads mostly flat along the Johannespromenade into the Dürrgraben and towards the Alpkogel where the turnaround point is located.

Nature Park Hohe Wand

From Alpengasthof Postl, a total of 4.5 kilometres of classic and skating sections lead through the nature park. While experts appreciate challenging ascents and fast descents, beginners and children can let off steam on the 2-kilometre meadow trail.

The cross-country ski trail in the floodplain of the Hochneukirchnerbach stream is snow-sure and easy to master, even for beginners. In the rear part of the Marienseer Valley, the 5-kilometre trail offers cross-country skiing fun for beginners and advanced skiers. A 7-kilometre circular trail with a classic track can be found in Spratzau near Hollenthon in the Bucklige Welt.

A small network of trails with several variants leads through the quiet valley of the upper Zöbernbach when there is enough snow. The classically groomed panoramic trail in Rohr im Gebirge leads over a total of 12 kilometres in two loops through untouched winter landscapes.

This five-kilometre trail at the foot of the imposing Schneeberg offers gentle ascents, descents and several loops that provide a wonderful panoramic view. The highest point is at 646 metres and the snowiest month is February with an average of 27 cm of snow on the mountain.
